Art of Relaxation - Chat with villagers, splurge on trying pastries at a “Conditorei”, admire the towering Alps and indulge in relaxed congeniality known locally as “Gemütlichkeit”.
Accommodations
Lodges, inns and small hotels have been selected personally for comfort, picturesque location, distinctive characteristics, and/or historic significance. Relax and unwind in notable regional accommodations with friendly staff.
Cuisine
Enjoy a variety of regional meals and beverages in establishments ranging from well-known restaurants to home-cooked dinners at several inns. Refresh yourself while enjoying local beer, wine and fresh fruit drinks. Sip red or white vintages from the famous “Wahau” (wine region) along the Danube, try a “Radler”, a cyclist’s beer, or kick back for a snack at a traditional café or “Conditorei”.
Bicycles
Locally available bicycles are used and maintained. They are of the 21 gear cross bike variety, and are outfitted with fenders, luggage rack and other accessories. These hybrids have been chosen for road worthiness and efficiency on paved roads. They have the comfort of mountain bikes, have upright handlebars, comfortable seats and sturdy wheels to take on paved road and dirt-road options.
Van Support
While cycling, our cell phone dispatched “sag wagon” is available to assist you with water, snacks or in anyway including shortening the ride for the day. Luggage is forwarded daily via the van, except when hiking lodge to lodge.
